Urgent disaster response opportunity in Colorado

Published on Mar 30th, 2015 by wpd-office | 0

A new Brethren Disaster Ministries site is opening in Greeley, Colo. in mid-May, and Western Plains District has been ask to line up volunteers for the week of May 17-23.  We do not know exactly what the work will be this first week but we do need an assistant cook.

PLEASE ANNOUNCE THIS IN YOUR CHURCHES THIS WEEK AND beyond. Please let Bud and Susan Taylor know of any potential recruits. You may contact them at susandtaylor@yahoo.com.

It has been a long time since we have had the opportunity in our district, so we need you to recruit members from your congregations who would be willing to serve during this week. If we can get enough interest, the district will rent a van to provide transportation. We also could take another week in June, so if you think there is interest in that also let us know.

This is in response to severe flooding that struck Weld, Larimer and Boulder Counties in Sept. 2013, destroying 1,882 homes and damaging another 5,566.  The type of work likely will be a combination of major repairs, some new builds, and some mobile homes.

Thanks for sharing this with your congregations and anyone else who might be interested.
